Step I. Assessing a student’s original composition:
Conflicts with others are common in everyday life. Yesterday afternoon we held a basketball game. During the game, Su Hua and Li Jiang wanted to catch the ball. They bumped into each other. This caused them to yell at each other. It turned into a horrible argument.
To be honest, both were to blame as they didn’t keep calm. They said something really mean. They cared too much about winning and losing. They forgot that they might block, push and bump in the tough game.
We want to avoid such conflicts. We should be kind to each other. We should forgive and forget. It is also a good virtue. We are faced with a competitive and stressful society. We are supposed to communicate more. This will make a contribution to a better life. We should stop being self-centered and try to be kind. Thus, we can handle conflicts which arise from lack of control.
Step II. Doing exercises
Task one: about doing (gerund)
